Watch out Silicon Valley: Innovation is Happening all Over the WorldBillee Howard
In the house of we, Silicon Valley is no longer just the hailed mecca from where the best innovations come. It is an unparalleled ecosystem of disruptive thought invented by the U.S., which is being aped globally.
Today whether you look at the new made in the USA movement that is mandating former old economy industry hubs to reimagine themselves as new economy hotbeds, like Silicon Forest in Oregon (Mentor Graphics) or Silicon Anchor in Virginia (Hatch), or you examine the democratizing power of technology that is driving creative vision in places as far flung as Cyprus (Bitcoin) and Vietnam (Flappy Bird), it is clear that the world’s greatest new ideas, aspirations and bountiful creations are no longer just derived from the “Valley” of Silicon any longer.
Whether it is Silicon Beach in Venice California that is celebrating the disruptive leaders of entertainment and auto tech like Whisper or ParkMe, or Silicon Wadi in Tel Aviv Israel that is changing the world’s countenance with innovations such as Waze or Billguard, the world of we commerce is enabling anyone with a great idea and access to the power of technology, to introduce an idea to the world and bask in acclaim as easily as a company the size of GE or Ford.
In a word, Silicon is no longer just for Valleys anymore and the world is just about anyone’s canvas of expression and invention.
It is clearly no longer about the me, and what the few are allowed to create, it’s about the we, and the power of what we can together boundlessly imagine.
